Beijing, Jan. 22, 2021---Recently, the《Chinese Expert Consensus on Brain Monitoring Technology for Patients with Craniocerebral Trauma》, edited by the Craniocerebral Trauma Professional Group of the Neurosurgery Branch and the Neurotrauma Professional Group of the Trauma Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, was released. The two biomarkers, GFAP and UCH-L1 (PGP9.5) are written into this expert consensus and recommended by Chinese experts as brain monitoring techniques for patients with traumatic brain injury.
This "Expert Consensus" briefly describes a variety of brain monitoring techniques for patients with craniocerebral trauma, including imaging examinations, intracranial pressure monitoring, and brain biomarker detection. In the brain biomarker detection, neuron-specific enolase, ubiquitin carboxy-terminal hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1 or PGP9.5), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), neurofilament protein are introduced. Among them, the clinical status and clinical compliance rates of UCH-L1 (PGP9.5) and GFAP in the foreign countries are illustrated in details, which will play an important role in applying the brain biomarker detection in the brain trauma monitoring in China.
